How many of your staff are first aid trained?
All of our staff are Paediatric First Aid certified.
What are the children and teachers ratios?
We follow the official government guidelines –
for 2 year olds, 1 teacher to 4 children
for 3 – 4 year olds, 1 teacher to 8 children
Do you have fire drills?
We are required to do fire drills with the staff and children every month, we have assigned fire drill conductors who schedule it according to the weather and shelter in place.
What do I need to do in order to be placed on the waiting list?
In order to be placed on the waiting list, you will need to contact us to arrange to come and meet us and tour the nursery, then you let us know if you would like to be added to our waiting list.
What happens if my child gets sick at Fireflies?
If your child is not well you will receive a phone call from the Manager making you aware of the condition your child is in. You may be asked to collect them.
For sickness and diarrhea, children need to be symptom-free for 48 hours before being accepted back into Fireflies.
