What is the Curiosity Approach?
The goal of this approach is to foster a love of learning and a sense of independence in children, and to help them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in school and in life.
The curiosity approach is an educational philosophy that prioritises the natural curiosity of children and seeks to nurture it through an environment that is rich in exploration and discovery. This approach recognises that children are born with a natural desire to learn about the world around them, and seeks to create an environment that supports and encourages this curiosity.
In a nursery school following the curiosity approach, children are given the freedom to explore and play in a safe and supportive environment. They are encouraged to ask questions and seek out new experiences, and are given the time and resources to engage in activities that spark their interests. The goal of this approach is to foster a love of learning and a sense of independence in children and to help them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in school and in life.
The curiosity approach also values creativity and collaboration and seeks to create an environment where children can work together and learn from each other. It emphasizes the importance of flexibility and adaptability and recognises that children’s needs and interests change as they grow and develop. By fostering an environment that is responsive to the changing needs of children, the curiosity approach helps children to feel valued and supported as they learn and grow.
